Similar type of toilet is still found in Korea. My first day visiting there I leaned over to a new friend at dinner and quietly asked "Which direction should I be facing?". To which they replied "You should be looking at the door". Funny Memories, good article.

I've seen those in China as well.
I just don't get how you're supposed to keep your clothes dry from the water spraying.
